Choosing Wedding Fragrance for Brides, Grooms & Guests with Magees
FINALLY, we can (safely!) attend weddings and larger occasions with our loved ones, edging ever closer to normality, it’s been lovely to hear about the return of live music and larger numbers at weddings; as we know in Ireland – and Donegal particularly – we love a wedding. Now we can finally dust the dancing shoes off and get ready for some memorable days and nights with our nearest and dearest. One fun way to prepare for your big day, or even as a guest, is choosing a special scent; here are some Magees tips for selecting a wedding fragrance…
Fragrance
Every bride and groom will have a wedding scent, whether they try something new or stick with an old faithful, this fragrance becomes a nostalgic memory of your big day, for years to come. You’ll use it on your anniversary, or on a random day/night – and the smell will transport you right back like a time portal to those magical moments. It’s scientifically proven – in fact that scent triggers memory;
“Our sense of smell is also profoundly connected to memory. Studies have shown that odour serves as a stronger trigger than any other sensory cue for recalling personally meaningful memories. Smell and emotion intertwine and can be saved in the brain for years.” – (VeryWell Mind)
Choose wisely, as it will be ‘the one’ for years to come (this goes for the other half, too, lol!) It’s a good time to invest in something different, and you might have allowed for a little more budget than what you usually spend on perfume. Or why not, gift your beloved ahead of or on – the wedding day with a perfume/cologne present.
Six Top Bridal fragrances:
- 1. The vibrant, chic and airy Chloé Eau de Parfum
2. The explosive, addictive and sensual Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
3. The hearty, floral and feminine Miss Dior
4. The glam rock, spicy yet sweet Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium
5. The lively, fruity and fresh Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue
6.The stylish, chic and divine Jimmy Choo Eau De Parfum
For brides, an Irish wedding day starts early, and ends late so perfume with a higher oil than water content is good to choose as they typically last longer, an Eau de Parfum or a fragrance oil have more staying power for a long day which is worth keeping in mind, too. Spray your perfume on to your pulse points: the wrists, the chest and the nape of the neck – as well as the crook of your elbow and behind the knees as movement can activate the scent. Best to spray on before you step into your dress.
We can’t forget the grooms, and a top tip – once you buy your groom fragrance, go and leave it in your overnight bag or where you’re/they’re getting ready (your/their parents house for example) so that it’s not forgotten in the haste of the day before.
Three Top Groom fragrances:
1. The modern, musky and deeply authentic Gucci Memoire D’Une Odeur
2. The fresh, aquatic and masculine, Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio
3. The striking, sensual and arresting, Paco Rabanne 1 Million
